Mediation in the UK is popularly used to resolve many family disputes.

A consultation session is arranged with a mediator to address the issues of concern. Mediation costs start from just £99.00. Although no particular protocol exists to prevent conflicts between the parties, the mediator or a panel of mediators will try to keep matters between the two parties under control. Mediation costs are generally based on the length of the event, but they are not fixed costs.

Services Offered

The overall expense depends on the complexity of the problem, the participants involved and the circumstances of the case.

Most mediation costs are worked out by dividing the fee into small pieces, for example, one-third for the initial session and two-thirds for the continuation.

This approach means that if the case is relatively simple, it can usually be handled without paying for any further proceedings.

There are many options available if you want to go with a low-cost alternative to a solicitor. It is essential to do a thorough research before deciding on the right person for the job.

Research different aspects of the situation such as the expertise of the person you have chosen, experience, the charges of mediation, the reputation of the mediator and the reputation of the case.

Always make sure that you get an unbiased opinion. You do not want to be in the position of selecting a mediator who cannot produce the results you are hoping for.
